Bayn takes a big step into the Baltic market in their continued march towards sugar reduction.
Bayn has, via their distributor in the Baltics, received a breakthrough order for their sugar reduction blends, developed and produced in Europe. The first deliveries are scheduled to start in May with monthly dispatches foreseen to continue throughout the year. The total value of the order is expected at 60,000 EUR.
“Sugar reduction has had a slow start, but it’s beginning to ease up. Formulating products for the consumers’ taste has been a challenge. We have long believed that the way to sugar reduction is through blends. Our blends make sugar reduction accessible to the industry and meets consumer demands on taste and texture”, says Lucy Dahlgren, Founder of Bayn Europe AB.
Bayn has a very positive outlook on the prospects in the Baltic market. The recent interest in sugar reduction seen in this market may have been catalysed by the sugar tax discussion but ultimately it is in line with the sugar reduction trend seen globally.
“The Baltic market may be somewhat smaller, but companies here are producing for both the local market and for export, so the market potential is, in fact, very big”, says Patrik Edström, CEO of Bayn. “It is a fantastic breakthrough and after this introduction we will market our full range in the Baltics.”
